On Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, the Pee Dee Regional Transportation Authority launched the the Tri-County Connector, a new service connecting Marion, Dillon, and Florence counties.
The service combines a fixed route and Demand Response model to meet regional transportation needs while expanding transportation options between Marion, Dillon, and Florence counties. The Tri-County Connector will provide scheduled connections to help residents access employment, health care, education, and other essential destinations throughout the Pee Dee region.
The Morning Connector provides an early morning connection from Marion and Mullins to Harbor Freight in Dillon.
Marion County Admin Building: 4:45 a.m. pickup
Mullins Roses: 5 a.m. pickup
Latta Tiger Mart: 5:25 a.m. pickup
Harbor Freight in Dillon: 5:45 a.m. arrival
Passengers should arrive at their designated pickup location five minutes prior to the scheduled pickup time.
Beginning at 8 a.m., the service transitions to a reservation-based Demand Response model providing scheduled transportation connections between Marion, Dillon and Florence counties. The service provides connections:
Between Marion and Dillon
From Marion or Dillon to Florence
From Florence to Marion or Dillon for return trips only
Advance reservations are required for Demand Response trips. Passengers must contact PDRTA Dispatch in advance to schedule their trip and confirm service details. PDRTA Dispatch: 843-665-2227, option 2.
Prior to finalizing the new service, PDRTA conducted public outreach meetings in Marion and Dillon counties to gather feedback from passengers, community members, employers, and local partners. Participants shared input regarding regional transportation needs, travel patterns, travel times, and desired destinations. This input helped guide the service model and the connections it provides.
