AnMed Announces Plans for New Campus and Emergency Department

AnMed has announced its intention to construct a new emergency center and health care campus on 44 acres on Clemson Boulevard near Interstate 85 Exit 19, marking the next phase of the health system’s long-term plan to expand access to care across the Upstate.

Opening in 2028, the new campus will provide 24/7 emergency care, medical office space, and more, expanding access to care and convenience in a growing area of Pendleton and Anderson County.

“This project is the next phase of a growth plan we’ve been thoughtfully executing for several years,” said AnMed CEO William Kenley. “We’re investing in locations and services that make it easier for patients to access the care they need, closer to where they live and work. This new campus is an important part of that plan, and it won’t be the last.”

The Clemson Boulevard campus builds on AnMed’s ongoing expansion across Anderson, Pickens, and Oconee counties and follows a series of investments designed to bring emergency, primary, specialty, and other health care services closer to patients.

Since opening AnMed Piedmont in 2025 near Interstate 85 Exit 35, the health system has announced several additional projects, including:

  • AnMed Central/Clemson, located near U.S. Highway 123 and 18 Mile Road, will provide emergency care, primary care, specialty care, and more.

  • AnMed Windsor Place will open later this year at 1520 E. Greenville St. in Anderson, expanding access to orthopedics and sports medicine, ear nose and throat care, occupational medicine, and more while allowing for the expansion of heart and vascular care at 100 Healthy Way.

  • 119 BiLo Place in Seneca will expand access to primary care, pediatrics, urgent care, and physical therapy and rehabilitation, with new offices opening later this year.

Together, these projects represent continued progress in AnMed’s broader plan to expand its network of integrated, on-demand health care services and make care more accessible to the communities it serves.

“Health care needs continue to evolve, and we're focused on thoughtfully growing alongside the communities we serve,” Kenley said. “We’ve been planning and investing for the future, and this new campus is another step in that work. We’ve been here for more than a century, providing exceptional care and investing in the health and well-being of our friends and neighbors.  We’re proud to continue building on that legacy and bringing more care closer to the people who call this region home.”
