Three Palmetto State colleges have been named to the 2026 Recognized Colleges list by Great Colleges to Work For.
In the Upstate, Anderson and Lander universities made the list, and in the Pee Dee, Francis Marion University was honored.
The latest results, published in a special insert of The Chronicle of Higher Education, reflect responses from employees at 171 colleges and universities nationwide.
Anderson University, located in Anderson, was recognized in eight categories, including Professional Development, Job Satisfaction & Support, and Faculty Experience.
Lander University, located in Greenwood, received recognition in two categories: Faculty Experience and Job Satisfaction & Support.
Francis Marion University, located in Florence, was recognized in nine categories, including Compensation & Benefits, Professional Development, Mission & Pride, and Confidence in Senior Leadership.
ModernThink, a strategic human capital consulting firm, conducted the survey and analyzed the results. The assessment combines institutional information about employment data and workplace policies with direct feedback from faculty, administrators, and professional support staff. Employee responses serve as the primary factor in determining which institutions receive recognition.
