Team members at North American Rescue (NAR), a South Carolina-based provider of casualty-care and survivability solutions for military and first responders, and a subsidiary of Henry Schein, Inc., recently joined members of the local community for a Carry The Load® nationwide Memorial May campaign event honoring and remembering the sacrifices of the nation’s military, veterans, first responders, and their families. More than 400 attendees gathered at the company’s headquarters in Greer, South Carolina, to participate in the event.
Held in memory of Captain John David Hortman, a South Carolina native remembered for his courage and selfless leadership, the event featured remarks from Lieutenant Colonel Brad Vance of the United States Army Armor Branch; Brenda Jones, mother of Captain Hortman; and community leaders before participants took part in a one-mile memorial walk. NAR also presented a donation to the Quilts of Valor Foundation to support its mission of providing comfort and healing to veterans and service members.
As part of Carry The Load’s nationwide Memorial May campaign, Henry Schein and North American Rescue are supporting the organization’s national movement for the fifth consecutive year. Founded in 2011 by veteran U.S. Navy SEALs Clint Bruce and Stephen Holley, Carry The Load provides ways for Americans to honor and remember those who have served and sacrificed for the country.
