Officials noted that this special event was dedicated to celebrating the remarkable volunteers whose time, talent, and enthusiasm make the tournament possible each year. The invitational brought together 100 volunteers for a day of golf, camaraderie, and appreciation. Following a shotgun start, participants enjoyed a spirited round on the iconic Thornblade course before gathering for an awards ceremony and reception honoring the many individuals who contribute to the tournament's ongoing success. This year's event held special meaning as it celebrated 25 years of extraordinary service by volunteer director, Nancy Smith, who has been part of the tournament since it's inception. "Her tireless commitment and genuine care for every volunteer have helped shape this event into what it is today. We are deeply grateful for her 25 years of service and are thrilled that she'll continue to be part of the tournament family."While Smith is stepping back from her role as volunteer director, she plans to remain involved in the tournament. "This event and the people behind it mean so much to me," said Nancy Smith. "The friendships, memories, and impact we've created together will always hold a special place in my heart. I'm grateful to continue supporting the tournament in new ways."The Nancy Smith Golf Invitational presented by Spartanburg Regional concluded with the presentation of awards recognizing the top-performing teams, as well as winners of the longest drive and closest-to-the-pin contests.
