I am a dedicated servant and educational leader committed to creating schools where every student has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. As the principal of Hughes Academy of Science and Technology, I have focused on strengthening school culture, improving student achievement, and building meaningful partnerships with staff, families, and the community. Through collaborative leadership and a shared vision, our school has celebrated academic growth while continuing to foster an environment where students and educators feel supported and empowered. My long-term goal is to continue leading transformational change in education by developing systems that promote excellence, equity, and opportunity for all students in and outside of school. I believe that strong schools are built through authentic relationships, high expectations, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Giving back to the community means investing in people. Whether mentoring future leaders, partnering with local organizations, or supporting families, I believe service extends beyond the school walls. I am passionate about creating lasting opportunities that strengthen our community and positively impact the lives of future generations.
Favorite Quote and Why: "They can take many things from you, but they'll never take your knowledge or your ability to adapt." This quote is inspiring because it shifts your focus from what can be lost to what can never be taken away. It reminds us that while circumstances, possessions, titles, or opportunities may change, our learning, experiences, and resilience remain with us.
Definition of a Successful Leader: A successful leader is someone who inspires others to grow, serves with integrity, and creates space where people can thrive together. Leadership success is not measured by authority or position, but by the positive impact made on others and the lasting results achieved through collaboration. I often think about positive legacy and longevity when I think of how I want to be remembered
Advice to 18-Year-Old Self: Life is going to come at you quickly. It's time to make some big decisions, be strong, and remember that God is always in control. You were created for a time such as this, and the impact you will have on others will far outlast your presence. Laugh often, love hard, and remember, family first.
